Born into a family that valued service and entrepreneurship, Joe’s early life was a mosaic of small businesses. From paper routes to lawn care, his formative years were spent in the service of others, laying the groundwork for a lifelong commitment to providing exceptional service.
Joe’s educational journey, marked by a blend of practical experience and academic pursuit, led him from Windsor Locks High School to Asnuntuck Community College and, eventually, to Western New England University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business. This academic foundation, coupled with his hands-on experience in his family’s grocery store and a high-end furniture store, became the cornerstone of Joe’s understanding of customer service and business operations.
It was in the aisles of the furniture store, amidst the elegant pieces and discerning customers, that Joe discovered his passion for delivering more than just furniture—he wanted to deliver unparalleled service. Learning the intricacies of high-end furniture handling from the ground up, Joe envisioned a moving company that stood for quality, trust, and reliability.
With the seeds of entrepreneurship firmly planted, Joe took the leap and founded Castle Express Moving. What started as labor-only jobs filling PODS evolved into a licensed, full-service moving company with a fleet of seven trucks and a 10,000 square foot facility by 2023. Each step, from the first 1,800 square foot unit in Enfield to the expansive premises of today, has been a testament to Joe’s determination to grow and serve his community better.
Throughout this journey, Joe’s personal life flourished alongside his business. Marriage and three children added layers of joy and purpose, reinforcing his commitment to building a legacy of service. His dedication to personal and professional development through self-help, business courses, and coaching has not only shaped him as a leader but has also infused Castle Express Moving with a culture of continuous improvement and customer-centricity.
